Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility seeks proposals for first projects

The NSW government’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility (AMRF), currently under construction at Bradfield City Centre, is seeking proposals for its first projects.

The AMRF is scheduled to open in its first stage mid-next year, and aims to be the centre of “an advanced manufacturing ecosystem”  within the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.

According to its website, those interested can

  • Propose a project to be considered among the first undertaken; or
  • Provide feedback on the AMRF customer proposition, and information about their organisation’s current production and/or research priorities

Responses can be submitted via email to [email protected] until November 28 for first projects. (More information can be found here.)

AMRF intends to be a first-of-its-kind manufacturing development in the nation, and will offer “specialist engineering talent to drive qualified manufacturing solutions” for applications including precision machining, additive manufacturing and composites.

It will open in two stages, with the first billed “Next-Generation Fabrication”. A second stage – “Advanced Electronics and Semiconductors” – is planned to open in 2026.

The facility, run by the Western Parkland City Authority, is also hiring for the below roles (job ads are linked) with applications closing on Monday, November 13.
