Ainsworth profits as gaming recovers from Codid-19 pandemic






Gaming machine manufacturer Ainsworth Game Technology is experiencing improved conditions in its slot machine and online businesses, with the company reporting net profit before tax of $1 million for the second half of the financial year.

In line with improved business conditions reported by Aristocrat Leisure, as gaming emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic, Ainsworth now expects earnings before interest, tax, interest, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of $19 million.

With second half EBITDA of $13.2 million, EBITDA is up 128 per cent on the previous corresponding period.

During the latest half the company also saw a gain of $3.3 million from the sale of surplus land at its Nevada facility.

Ainsworth also revealed an exclusive agreement with internet gaming services company GAN Limited to license Ainsworth’s online real money games in the United States’, according to a statement.

The agreement will last for five years, with a minimum guaranteed of US$30 million.

Ainsworth will make available 79 unique slots titles, including the QuickSpin and High Denomination titles.

GAN will ‘incorporate Ainsworth’s existing online operations in New Jersey as well as the planned expansions in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
