AMGC announces new NT director

Manufacturing News

The Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre has announced the appointment of Charmaine Barrett to the newly-created role of Director for the Northern Territory.

AMGC and the NT government announced a five-year, $8.75 million agreement in late-April. This included funding for collaborative projects, establishment of a new AMGC office in the NT, and a permanent director “to build connections between local manufacturers and interstate research institutions.”

Barrett was formerly at the Industry Capability Network, with her most recent roles as Operations Manager and Business Development Manager in the NT.

“A program such as this is exactly what we require to spur innovation, investment, and prosperity for the region. I look forward to getting to work with AMGC and the Northern Territory Government,” said Barrett.

“Charmaine brings with her a deep understanding of the Territories industrial landscape, and she is the perfect person to convert this potential into outcomes,” added Dr Jens Goennemann, Managing Director at AMGC.
