Applications have opened today for federal grants of between $1 million and $20 million for manufacturers in the food and beverage, defence, and recycling and clean energy sectors.
The grants are for the Translation and Integration streams of the Modern Manufacturing Initiative. They cover up to half of project costs for successful project applications.
The Translation stream targets “manufacturers translat[ing] good ideas into commercial outcomes” and the Integration scheme accessing “local and international supply chains and markets.”
Guidelines for applicants are available here.
Applications for the funding round close on January 14, 2022. Applications are open to manufacturing companies in the six National Manufacturing Priority sectors: food and beverage, defence, recycling and clean energy, space, medical products, and resource technology and critical minerals processing. These are represented in the graphic above.
