A second round of grants will be made available through the Translation and Integration streams of the federal Modern Manufacturing Initiative, with applications to open next week.

According to a statement from industry minister Angus Taylor on Thursday, $280 million would be available through the second round.

Grant funding of between $1 million and $20 million is available, covering as much as 50 per cent of project costs.

The Translation stream targets “manufacturers translat[ing] good ideas into commercial outcomes” and the Integration scheme accessing “local and international supply chains and markets.”

As with other MMI grants, funding is only open to manufacturers in the six National Manufacturing Priorities.

The six eligible sectors are Space, Medical products, Resource technology and critical minerals processing, Food and Beverage, Recycling and Clean energy, and Defence. These are represented in the graphic above.

Applications will open in two tranches, on December 13 and 17. More information is available here.
