The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) will hold a pitch day in September, with development contracts worth up to $750,000 on offer for companies successfully outlining their technologies to Defence.
According to a statement from defence industry minister Pat Conroy on Friday, expressions of interest are open until July 22, with selected companies invited to pitch during the Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research (ADSTAR) Summit, held September 17-19.
The theme is “innovative asymmetric advantage”, described by ASCA as “military capabilities that pit strength against weakness and disrupt a potential adversary’s decision calculus.”
“With this week marking ASCA’s first anniversary, it’s only fitting we announce the inaugural pitch day, underscoring our commitment to supporting industry and ensuring our ADF personnel are equipped with the capabilities they need,” said Conroy.
According to ASCA’s website, industry and academia are welcome to apply, with the event serving, among other things, “as a market scanning activity to ensure Defence remains aware of new capabilities and innovations.”
Successful applicants will make a three-minute pitch at the summit, with winners announced at the summit’s gala dinner.
