@AuManufacturing Conversations launched

We are delighted to launch @AuManufacturing Conversations with Brent Balinski, the podcast for the @AuManufacturing website, newsletter and community.

Our first guest is Jo Murphy, the owner of EFC Manufacturing Co, recently featured in our Celebrating Australian Made series, sponsored by the Australian Made Campaign Limited.

Jo tells us about how she came to be custodian of an Australian invention with oodles of heritage following a career in the fashion industry and her recovery from a health scare, the team of nine or so Australian suppliers that contribute to her product, being involved in “micro-micro manufacturing”, the joy and the imperfection attached to handmade goods, and more. (See player below.)

Through Conversations, We hope to capture something of the variety to manufacturing, its place in the nation, its changing nature, and some of the personalities within it.

This new podcast is an extension of the @AuManufacturing news and analysis website and the community around it aiming to provide another layer of depth to what’s written here. Another reason for doing this is we had a look around and could find no regularly-updated podcast dedicated to Australian manufacturing, a situation in need of correction.

We hope you enjoy this first episode, and promise to bring you many more.
