Blackmores announces new CEO

Vitamins and supplements manufacturer Blackmores (ASX:BKL) has announced that Alistair Symington will start as its new CEO and managing director in October.

Symington is a currently based in Dubai and is senior vice president at cosmetics company Cody. He has previously been an executive at Nestle, Gillette, and Procter & Gamble.

Marcus Blackmore has been leading the company his father founded since the departure of Richard Henfrey in April. This followed a profit warning after slowing demand from China, with profits down 14.3 per cent in the first nine months of the financial year.

“Alistair’s strong business acumen, his personal passion for natural health and dynamic personality makes him the perfect choice to lead Blackmores,” said Marcus Blackmore.
