Defence Export Advocate to offer five-week online course for small businesses

The federal government has announced a series of web-based advice sessions to Australian small businesses wanting to reach the global defence market.

In a statement also announcing the extension of Defence Export Advocate David Johnston by 12 months, defence industry minister Melissa Price said the group and one-on-one sessions would provide pitch training to participants, helping them better offer their products and services online.

“The pitch training will be delivered as an online, five-week course, and includes coursework, webinars and one-on-one support,” said Price in a statement.

“It is free to members of defence industry who are participating in Team Defence Australia-supported online or physical trade events.”More information on the ADEO can be seen here.

Johnston has been in the role since 2018, the year the ADEO was established. As a former defence minister, he once famously told the senate that he would not trust the Australian Submarine Corporation to build a canoe.
