Western Downs Regional Council and the Queensland Manufacturing Institute (QMI) are hosting a Process Improvement Workshop on October 15.

According to a statement from the council on Tuesday, the event at Chinchilla RSL Memorial Club will run from 9.30 am to 3 pm, and includes three sessions delivering “practical tools and strategies to enhance productivity, boost efficiency, and foster sustainable long-term growth” for manufacturers.

Councillor Megan James said, “Attendees will have the chance to connect with fellow manufacturers[,] participate in an Energy Savers Assessment and discover innovative approaches to making their businesses more sustainable and competitive.

“This is a unique opportunity for our local manufacturing sector to learn directly from industry experts, expand professional networks, and walk away with actionable solutions to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and drive business growth right here in the Western Downs.”

The three sessions are:

  • Driving efficiency through practical LEAN solutions, led by James McIntosh – McIntosh Specialised Consulting;
  • From Benchmarking to Action: Managing Climate Risk in Manufacturing, led by Penny Prasad – Director – The Ecoefficiency Group; and
  • Practical energy insights manufacturers can act on today, led by Brad Parsons – Founder & CEO, Rely Ability & Co-developer, LEAP program.

The workshop is supported by the Queensland government's Regional Economic Futures Fund (REFF.) Tickets are $20 through Eventbrite.
