Melbourne-headquartered product development and electronics engineering company Extel Technologies has appointed Sammy Wallwork as Chief Growth Officer, as it looks to “deepen customer partnerships and enhance… design and manufacturing capability” with clients across Australia and the United States.

In a statement on Monday, Extel Technologies’ CEO Bruce Fitzgerald said: “We recognise Sammy for his energy, clarity of vision and record of building high-performing teams that achieve ambitious outcomes for customers.”

Wallwork was named a “rising star” at the 2025 Australian Defence Industry Awards. He joins Extel from Advanced Navigation, where he was Global Head of Sales Development.

Wallwork will report directly to Fitzgerald and will work closely with Chief Business Officer Jeff Thomas, and will be also member of  Extel’s Executive Leadership Team.

“Extel Technologies has a world-class engineering and manufacturing capability that positions it to play a defining role in advancing Australia’s technology and manufacturing future,” added Wallwork.

“My focus is to accelerate growth by scaling our presence in key markets, supporting our OEM partners and ensuring Australian-designed and built systems continue to set the benchmark for quality, performance and reliability.”
