The iMOVE Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) has launched a $2 million second round for its Impact Extension Program, which is open to organisations including established businesses, universities and startups “looking to fund their transport related innovation.”

In a statement launching the program on Thursday, iMOVE said the initiative aims to “to identify and support Australia’s most promising new technologies, products and services” in transport and mobility, and will offer grants worth between $100,000 to $500,000.

The funding guidelines explain that “As we near the end of the CRC, we have accumulated nearly $2 million in interest in our bank account.

“Following the success of our first Impact Extension Program (IEP) launched in April 2023 we have decided to use these funds to initiate a second IEP program (IEP2).”

The CRC was launched in 2017 for a ten-year term with a $55 million grant from the federal government. Its support also comes from over 60 industry and research members and a ten-year term.

Applications for IEP2 will open on Monday, April 14. Funded projects must be completed by September 2026, and applications must be submitted before 5:00 PM (AEST) on May 26.
