Myriota adds another four satellites to UltraLite LEO constellation

Manufacturing News

Satellite-enabled IoT communications business Myriota is expanding its UltraLite low earth orbit (LEO) constellation with four new nanosatellites currently being onboarded.

According to a statement from the Adelaide-based company on Wednesday, the satellites were launched on March 14 aboard a SpaceX Transporter-13 mission. They will “continue to bolster” Myriota's UltraLite LEO constellation, strengthening its IoT connectivity offerings, including the 3GPP-aligned HyperPulse geostationary satellite service.

“We are maintaining a regular cadence of satellite launches, adding ever more capacity, coverage and resilience to our UltraLite constellation of LEO satellites as we invest in continuous upgrading of our service offerings,” said CEO Ben Cade (pictured.)

“Our networks can now support tens of millions of IoT connections around the globe, ensuring access to low-power, cost effective sensor networks to more countries and industries, ready for our partners to further expand their solution deployments in 2025 and 2026”

It follows the onboarding of four other satellites for the company’s LEO constellation, announced on January 14. The ongoing expansion will see more customers able to “securely monitor and collect data globally using long-lasting and low-cost IoT sensors” according to Myriota.

Myriota announced a $50 million funding round in December, with the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation investing $25 million alongside Main Sequence and Inter Valley Ventures.

Myriota was founded in 2015 based on research from University of SA’s Institute for Telecommunications.
