NSW government announces $5 million grant scheme for PPE manufacturing

The NSW government has announced it will provide $5 million in support of personal protective equipment manufacturing in the state.

Details of the grant scheme have not been released, but a post on the state government website says it aims to stimulate manufacturing and bolster sovereign capability in PPE, and will target manufacturers and other businesses which are
– currently manufacture and can increase production or
– are looking to “retool” and pivot their existing manufacturing lines to produce specified PPE products. This can also include the materials used to make those specified PPE products.

Applications will be assessed by treasury, and the “application process, program guidelines and eligibility criteria will be released shortly.”
Businesses can find more information and register their interest at this link.
