SMEs invited to apply for next round of capability grants

Eligible defence suppliers have been invited to apply for the next round of Sovereign Industrial Capability Program grants.

A release from defence industry minister Melissa Price states $12.4 million grants in total have so far been awarded under the program, ranging from $50,000 to $1 million. Funds are matched 50:50 by participants’ investment.
Recipients so far have included “manufacturing companies supporting our land combat vehicles, businesses undertaking research and development on cutting-edge technologies and local businesses delivering the government’s naval shipbuilding plan.”
A list of round two and three recipients includes Global Manufacturing Group, Precise Global, and Xtek. (A recent @AuManufacturing interview with Xtek managing director Philippe Odouard can be read here.)
Applications can be made until October 1 through the Centre for Defence Industry Capability website here. A list of eligibility criteria can be seen at this link.
