Swinburne University Industry 4.0 program recognised with award






Swinburne University of Technology’s Industry 4.0 Initiative has been recognised at the 14th Australian Business Awards.

A statement from the university said Swinburne was “the only university in Australia with a holistic Industry 4.0 strategy” and that it was collaborating with global industry to address the challenges and opportunities related to Industry 4.0.

 

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development), Professor Aleksandar Subic, said receiving the ABA 100 Business Innovation Award was pleasing, and that the university was proud of its program.

“Swinburne has made a real difference through its strategic industry links, preparing our business partners, as well as the current and future workforce for Industry 4.0 transformations,” said Subic.

“We have positioned ourselves as a national and international leader in Industry 4.0 research, innovation and education across the entire continuum – from vocational to research training.” .
The initiative has so far included Australia’s first Advanced Diploma for Industry 4.0, co-sponsored by Siemens and Ai Group; the Victorian Industry 4.0 SME Hub for Advanced Manufacturing; and a network of offshore joint research centres and hubs.
