Trailer business Maxi-CUBE turns 50

Manufacturing News

Maxi-CUBE, which makes trailers for refrigerated and dry freight at two Victorian sites, marked its 50th anniversary on Monday.

Commenting on the anniversary, the company’s general manager of sales and marketing Kevin Manfield said in a statement that, “Maxi-CUBE’s proud and long history is testament to the support of our loyal customers.

“Our customers play a vital role in the Australian economy and we are proud to partner with them through supplying innovative transport solutions that aid in delivering the needs of our nation.”

The company manufactures at Hallam and Ballarat.

Maxi-CUBE was founded as General Plastics in 1972, listed on the ASX in 1994, and evolved into the MaxiTRANS group following the acquisition of Freighter.

MaxiTrans is Australia and New Zealand’s biggest maker of heavy-duty transport trailers, and has been owned by Australian Trailer Solutions Group (ATSG) since last September.

The milestone follows the 75-year anniversary of its Freighter brand in 2021.
