VAILO to move factories early next year, citing increased demand

Manufacturing News

LED lighting specialist VAILO has announced that it has outgrown its Kent Town, Adelaide site and will relocate to a new factory and R&D facility in Wayville in early-2024.

According to a statement on Tuesday from VAILO – which was renamed from VALO in May – the new facility would cater to increasing demand and headcount. Among benefits cited were five times the current production floorspace, a photometrics dark room, and a new product development testing laboratory.

The Kent Town offices would be put on the market shortly and the company would lease back the site until the Wayville fitout was complete, said VAILO founder and CEO Aaron Hickmann.

“We’ve loved operating from Kent Town, which is one of the strongest real estate investment markets within Adelaide currently for development. But for advanced manufacturing, we’ve outgrown the site within a short period of time and as we look at our export market opportunity, the timing for this new state-of-the-art facility at Wayville is just right,” said Hickmann.

“VAILO’s new Wayville facility allows us to further develop our product ranges and test our technology, including some of the most advanced sport lighting systems and horticultural lighting systems globally.”

VAILO is currently involved in stadium and sports field lighting projects in Australia and abroad, and plans to set up a new office and manufacturing facility in the US for Northern American-specific LED lighting and digital displays.

VAILO was part of @AuManufacturing’s Australia’s 50 most innovative manufacturers list, announced last week.
