Building-integrated photovoltaics company Clearvue Technologies has announced a five-year manufacturing and distribution agreement with Aluminium Technology Auxiliary Industries (Alutec), a Qatar-based facade engineering company.
In a statement on Thursday, Clearvue said the signed agreement marks an expansion into the fast-growing Middle East and Indian markets.
According to market research cited by Clearvue, the combined construction sector in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar is growing at between 4.75 – 9.13 per cent annually, and tipped to be worth approximately $US 240 billion by 2029
Under the agreement, Alutec will make and distribute ClearVue’s Solar Vision Glass – which integrates solar technology into building façades – and also have the rights to distribute the ClearVue solar building envelope solutions.
“This agreement aligns with our growth strategy to partner with key manufacturers in strategic target markets. For the Middle East, Alutec is a prominent and well-respected leader in design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation for building envelopes,” said Martin Deil, Global CEO of ClearVue.
John Douglas, Alutec Pre-Construction Director, added: “Alutec understands the value of our unique technology for builders and building owners across the Middle East and India as they invest in sustainable smart cities and prepare for incoming construction decarbonization mandates.
“Governments across the Middle East are heavily investing in renewable solutions to meet our growing energy needs in the region. India is also a key focus for our expansion plans. We are currently setting up manufacturing and distribution facilities in India, and we see ClearVue as a key part of those plans as we expand into that region.”
The agreement builds on Clearvue’s list of licensed manufacturers and distributors in markets including the US, Japan, Singapore.
In January Clearvue announced its first manufacturer in Australia, Safety Glass, which trades as MS Glass.
Clearvue was on this title’s Australia’s 50 Most Innovative Manufacturers for 2024 list.
