CSIRO is inviting applications for the upcoming round of its free eight-week Innovate to Grow program for startups and SMEs, to be focussed on critical minerals.
According to a statement from CSIRO on Monday, the online course will offer help with companies’ “innovative ideas”, new R&D opportunities, and refinement of concepts to “better position themselves for growth in Australia’s critical minerals sector.”
Dr Chris Vernon, the lead for critical minerals at CSIRO and Chair of the Australian Critical Minerals R&D Hub Operations Group, said: “The country has both the resource endowment and research capability to be a major player in downstream processing, but businesses need the right R&D partnerships to compete effectively.
“Innovate to Grow helps SMEs advance their critical mineral innovations toward investment-ready propositions by giving them the tools and connections to learn how to scale their solutions and capture real market value”.
ASX-listed battery materials recycling company Iondrive attended Innovate to Grow last year. A testimonial from CEO Dr Ebbe Dommisse reads: “CSIRO was outstanding in understanding the research field and requirements for development and commercialisation activities and immediately made connections within CSIRO and other participants to assist with progressing the technology.
Applications for the upcoming round close on September 21, with successful applicants to sit the first workshop on October 16.
