Dr Jane Oppenheim, CEO at family-owned skincare business Ego Pharmaceuticals, was inducted into the Honour Roll for Service to Industry during Thursday night’s Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards.
According to a statement from Ego Pharmaceuticals, the induction recognises Oppenheim’s more than three decades of dedication to driving innovation and growth within the industry.
Jane Oppenheim has used her expertise within multiple critical areas at the company, Ego said, “from leading the scientific development of market-leading products to overseeing significant growth in manufacturing”, and enabled a “12 [per cent] compound growth in production over the past decade”.
She added, “I am truly honoured by this recognition.
“I believe in the power of a robust, high-technology manufacturing industry to create skilled jobs and add value to our community. I am passionate about fostering an environment of innovation and sustainability that benefits not only our company but all of Australia.”
Ego was founded by Gerald and Rae Oppenheim, a chemist and nurse respectively, in 1953. It is run by Jane Oppenheim and her husband, Managing Director Alan Oppenheim.
Alan Oppenheim was recognised in June this year with Member of the Order of Australia (General Division) honour.
Ego manufactures treatments for skin issues including eczema, psoriasis and head lice, exports to 20 nations, and operates Global Manufacturing and Support Centres at Braeside and Dandenong South in Victoria.
