“Free education to all manufacturers” launched

A new online learning tool featuring advice from some of Australia’s manufacturing success stories was launched on Tuesday.

The Manufacturing Academy features companies including Sutton Tools, ANCA Motion, Evolve Group and ICT International Australia. It covers six modules: competitiveness, resilience, workforce, product value, exports, and the state of manufacturing, and is an initiative of the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre.

“The online Manufacturing Academy offers free education to all manufacturers anywhere, anytime and on any device. It is delivered by manufacturers for manufacturers,” said industry minister Karen Andrews, who launched the Academy.

“This tool recognises that small and medium sized businesses often don’t have the capacity or money to spend on developing their business.”

The academy was previewed during breakfast events during National Manufacturing Week in Melbourne during May.

The AMGC was launched in 2015, and is one of six growth centres supported by the federal government to target sectors of competitive strength.

The Manufacturing Academy can be accessed here.
