Gravity Lab is a research and development facility designed to test the use of gravity to store and release energy.

The facility was constructed in partnership with BlueScope Steel utilising disused mineshafts to obtain high resolution performance data from the company’s proprietary gravitational energy technology.

Located in the industrial precinct created by BlueScope in Port Kembla, NSW, the facility will be capable of moving 16 separate weighted objects in a sequence to test the capabilities of the technology

Green Gravity took to social media and said: “With its completion, we are poised to unlock the full potential of gravitational energy storage and the circular economy, propelling us towards commercialisation and a greener future.

“Reaching this key milestone would not have been possible without the diligent work of our construction partners Quality Site Welding and Ledacon.”

Ledacon is the civil construction contractor for the facility.
