ASX- listed additive manufacturing specialist Amaero International has signed a heads of agreement with Gilmour Space Technologies, expected to lead to a supply of various rocket motor components worth $1.7 million over three years.
Amaero had provided a series of prototype components under small purchase orders over the last 12 months. The new HOA would see it contribute flight-ready parts to Gilmour, expected to begin before the end of this calendar year.
“We are very pleased to continue and strengthen our relationship with Gilmour Space as they develop and build local Low Earth Orbit launch capabilities,” said Amaero CEO Barrie Finnin in a statement
“Gilmour Space is a key local partner for our Australian operations, and this agreement builds a framework for collaborating with the company on a long-term basis. It also delivers on our strategic commitment to fostering the development of a local space industry in addition to the work we are conducting for global space companies out of our California manufacturing facility.”
Gilmour is planning to begin commercial launches of its Eris rocket into low earth orbit next year.
“Amaero’s capabilities and expertise play a key role in helping us to achieve our goal of more affordable, reliable and dedicated rocket launches,” added CEO and co-founder Adam Gilmour.
Both Amaero and Gilmour are part of a recently-announced Australian Space Manufacturing Network (ASMN), which Gilmour leads.
