The fifth annual Australian Cyber Week launches today, focussing on awareness of the sector in Australia and showcasing local innovators.
Twenty in-person and online events will run during the week, with each day based on a different theme in the fast-growing industry, which is expected to generate 7,000 new jobs over the next three years.
“AustCyber will utilise its virtual conference platform as the cornerstone infrastructure to deliver Australian Cyber Week,” said Michelle Price, CEO of AustCyber.
“Our 3D ‘circuit board city’ is the gateway to daily live events, a networking and community hub, knowledge library, exhibition hall with booths that feature Australian cyber security products and services and exclusive deals from companies featured on AUCyberscape.”
The first day will see expert speakers — including home affairs minister Karen Andrews, Tech Council of Australia CEO Kate Pounder and Australian Industry Group CEO Innes Willox — discuss a hypothetical cyberattack on an Australian hospital.
Tuesday will feature career skills and micro-credentials, Wednesday on tech company pitches, Thursday a debate on procurement and policy to drive emerging technology, and Friday “an instructor-led full day of open-source intelligence (OSINT) training.”
