Tritium appoints new President of the Americas as part of international expansion

Brisbane-based fast DC charging company Tritium has announced Mike Calise as its new President of the Americas.

Tritium designs and manufactures chargers for electric vehicles, with customers including Chargefox, EDF Lumins, and IONITY. Calise is an electric vehicle industry veteran, and was previously CEO of Blink Charging Co and head of EV solutions North America for Schneider Electric. He also founded advisory firm EVadvise.

“As we continue our expansion in the Americas, we are thrilled to have Mike onboard, someone who’s a highly experienced leader that understands the EV charging business,” said David Finn, CEO and co-founder at Tritium, in a statement.

“He will play a key role in driving continued growth within the Americas market at a time when our team is achieving great success with significant new deals and strategic partnerships.”

According to Boston Consulting Group research, one third of all new cars sold in 2025 will be electric, and this will increase to 51 percent by the end of the decade.

“The demand for DC fast charging is staggering and Tritium’s poised for exceptional growth – I’m here to help drive that growth,” said Calise.

As episodes within Tritium’s expansion story, it completed a $30 million capital raise, opened a new R&D centre in Brisbane, and opened a new factory in LA last year.

Tritium was founded in 2001 by three members of the University of Queensland’s 1999 World Solar Challenge team.
