Zip marks 75th anniversary

Zip Water has announced that it will refresh its branding over the next 12 months, marking its current 75th anniversary year.

The drinking water company – which has brought products including the first on-wall instant water boiler and sparkling water tap to market – was established in 1947.

“We wouldn’t be where we are today without the commitment and dedication of our 800 people around the world, who really push the boundaries of what is possible,” said John Doumani, President of Zip International, in a statement on Monday.

“As we look the future, we remain committed to delivering water at its best through continued innovation and doing our part to ensure a sustainable planet – whether that’s fostering the reduction of single-use plastic consumption, the provision of safer and cleaner drinking water, mitigating climate change, or increasing and celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

The brand refresh, “will incorporate the hallmark Zip red, combined with a sleek and modern logo that reflects the modernity of the company.”

Zip was founded by Michael Crouch, who passed away in 2018, majority owned by Quadrant Private Equity from 2013, then acquired by US-based Culligan International Company in 2017. Its production site is at Condell Park in western Sydney, and received a $6 million upgrade in 2019.
