Drinking water appliance manufacturer Zip Water has launched a new series of its HydroTap G5, which the company says is the most energy-efficient in its HydroTap collection.
According to a statement from the company on Monday, the G5 “can deliver consistent chilled water while enhancing energy efficiency” by up to 24 per cent versus other HydroTap models, and is 10 per cent more energy efficient while in standby mode.
Zip, which makes its appliances at Condell Park in Sydney’s southwest, highlighted improvements including “an eco-friendlier refrigeration system utilising R290 refrigerant gas” as well as “a redesigned front fascia with integrated airflow vents, allowing air to be expelled out of the cupboard more quickly and efficiently.”
R290 is propane gas, which has low global warming potential (GWP) versus versus hydrofluorocarbons, and zero ozone depletion potential (ODP)
“Zip Water has always been at the forefront of sustainability in our industry,” said Mike Abbott, Managing Director ANZ, at Zip Water, in a statement.
“Our most eco-friendly HydroTap yet demonstrates our commitment to providing sustainable solutions to our customers.”
Zip Water was established in 1947, and acquired by Culligan International Company in 2017.
